We do not just need water to survive, it needs to be freshwater.

Globally, nearly 2.1 billion people lack access to safe drinking water in their homes and about 4.4 billion lack access to proper sanitation, putting them at risk of disease.

Human Basic Living Resources Development Foundation

U.S. Geological Survey reports: Thermoelectric-power withdrawals accounted for 45 percent of total water use in the United States. (https://water.usgs.gov/edu/wupt.html)

THAT IS NEARLY HALF OF ALL OUR AVAILABLE FRESHWATER, THAT WE CAN GET FROM SOLAR OR WIND POWER

Unsafe Drinking Water

Contaminated water is a leading cause of death for children in developing countries.

Bad water kills 4,000 children a day! These deaths have come down significantly over the last decade, from 1.2 million per year in 2000 to about 760,000 a year in 2011. (www.unicef.org)

Over 300 million people live in the United States.

If each person decreases their shower by two minutes each time, we could be saving TRILLIONS of gallons of water each year.

According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency:

1 kWh of thermoelectric generation =

25 Gallons of Water

THUS,

40watts=1gallon of water

Different light bulbs burn different amounts of water, for example:

Watts per light bulb compared to 60watts per hour:

INC: 60watts= 1.5gals of water/hour

CFL: 12watts= 0.35gal of water/hour

LED: 8watts= 0.2gal of water/hour

We are literally BURNING  through our freshwater supply.

Is there still time to find a

SOLUTION?
